Osteofit Classes

  • designed by the BC Women’s Hospital and Health Center’s Osteoporosis Program
  • helps reduce the chance of falling
  • safe and gentle guided exercise
  • improve ability to perform day to day activities
  • improve joint range of motion
  • improve balance and agility
  • increase strength through gentle resistance
  • improve posture and stability
  • improve core and functional strength
  • specially trained instructors using the latest research

OSTEOFIT with Noodlelegs!

  • Osteofit is a non-judgmental atmosphere where people can exercise safely and effectively – always with an element of fun!
  • Osteofit classes are held 2x a week
  • The duration of our Osteofit classes is 1.5 hours. This  allows a more relaxed atmosphere for more fun time!
  • Osteofit is a progressive class, with the level of exercises and games progressing each week (thus, it is not a drop-in class)

2 levels of Osteofit:

Osteofit 1 (entry level):

  • TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS 1:30pm – 3:00pm*
  • *Note: class is 30 min longer to allow for more socialization!
  • DATES: POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING 2022
  • location: outdoors at different parks around Vernon
  • for people who wish to have a gradual introduction or return to exercise
  • good for those with Osteoporosis, lack of stamina, other medical issues that “slow” us down a bit (please contact us and we can chat about your needs)
  • all exercises and games can be done from a chair or options are given from a standing position
  • non-impact, gentle strengthening exercises and games that focus on fall prevention, balance, agility and coordination
  • with Covid, we use our own exercise bands (available for purchase in class if you need one)
  • each participant needs to complete the required forms, and sometimes their doctor needs to sign a form. See required forms.

Osteofit For Life:

  • TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS 10:30am – 12:00pm*
  • *Note: class is 30 min longer to allow for more socialization!
  • DATES: POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING 2022
  • location: outdoors at different parks around Vernon
  • for people who are currently somewhat active (gardening, golfing, walking 40min per day, etc.), and is a safe program for those with Osteoporosis/Osteopoenia.
  • non-impact, gentle strengthening exercises and games that focus on fall prevention, balance, agility and coordination, but the exercises and games are a little more advanced than Osteofit 1
  • chairs are provided, but we encourage exercising from standing position as much as possible and in time, we may advance to the more difficult floor exercises
  • with Covid, we use our own exercise bands (available for purchase in class if you need one)
  • each participant needs to complete the required forms, and sometimes their doctor needs to sign a form. See required forms.

Two methods of payment:

  1. e-transfer (pay@noodlelegs.ca)
  2. cash or personal cheque at first class

Full receipts will be issued.

Important Note: For insurance purposes, you CANNOT participate in Osteofit classes without these forms filled out and handed to the Noodlelegs instructor.
